Go Green, Go Shopping, Go Green Shopping
Green shopping can help save the environment and money.
Go green!
What is ‘green shopping’? Is it only on St. Patrick’s Day or looking for a Christmas tree? Or is it the day to get plants for the garden and flower beds?
Green shopping is a way to start helping the environment by buying smart. Green shopping means buying products that save resources, energy and prevent waste. It can also mean not buying stuff you don’t need.
Green shopping means not only helping the environment, but also saving money!

Buy smart
Buy Recycled
Recycled material means using fewer natural resources, such as trees. When school starts, look for recycled paper and other supplies.
Buy Used
Scour thrift stores and online for used usable clothes, books, home accessories, movies and CDs. Donate your usable items so others can benefit as well.
Share with Friends and Family
A great and fun way to save resources, energy and money is to swap with friends and family. Why not swap movies, books, games and music instead of buying?
Buy Durable
Instead of throw-away products buying ones that will last a long time will save money and resources. For instance, refill water bottles or us rechargeable batteries.
Buy Smart
Educate yourself on green shopping. Avoid excess packing. Instead of buying a DVD or game, try renting. Send ecards for Christmas and birthdays. Buy a favorite song instead of whole album.
One or two changes to our shopping habits will save us and our environment. Happy Shopping!
